I think you should do an experiment into the different types of cupcake cases – paper vs silicone! See which ones yield the best cakes…yummy!

That’s a very good idea actually, and just to add in to the mix, while on holiday I picked up some ceramic tartlet cases, that could easily be used to bake cupcakes in (and they’re in 6 funky colours to boot!), so a tri-comparison, paper vs silicone vs ceramic!

One thing I have found with silicone though so far is that it’s hard to get some cupcakes out of the case, so you end up having to eat it with a spoon. Not necessarily a bad thing, saves getting sticky fingers, and makes it seem more like a full-blown dessert than just a quick treat.

Watch this space and thanks for the suggestion!

Have you thought about making your own mince meat for mince pies, if you make it up now it will be fermented in time for Christmas!

I haven’t actually – but I don’t think I’ve got anywhere to store the mincemeat while it’s fermenting.

I saw Delia do this by stashing it under a bed in the spare bedroom. Lucky Delia having such a luxury 😛

And my airing cupboard is full to the brim of food photography props 😀

      Will you be making yours?

lol, I know what you mean about storage there is no space under my bed either! I tried it for the first time last year thanks to a James Martin recipe in Good Food and they were good – great presents for neighbours. Have done again this year and have had to re-organise my entire kitchen just to fit 5 jars in!
